Chris Clarke is an award winning multidisciplinary Creative Director based in London. Currently the Editorial Creative Director of The Guardian

Chris has been noted on numerous accounts by the Society of News Designers, Society of Publication Designers, It's Nice That, Creative Boom, YCN, Creative Review, Design Week, The AOI and The D&AD.

Chris is also the co-director of the online affordable art gallery RoomFifty and co-founder of the world’s first full ecommerce and creative fulfilment service for artists MakeRoom.

Chris is a multidisciplinary Creative Director based in London, England. Currently the global Editorial Creative Director of The Guardian — he is responsible for creatively leading, nurturing and developing a team of award-winning editorial designers across print and digital. Chris has been fundamental in all major re-designs, investigations, product launches, branding, campaigns and strategic positioning over the past nine years.

RoomFifty / MakeRoom

Chris is the co-director of the online affordable art gallery RoomFifty and co-founder of the world’s first full ecommerce and creative fulfilment service for artists MakeRoom.

RoomFifty — now in its fifth year has worked with major charities, arts organisations, galleries and is respected amongst the arts community for providing contemporary prints from a diverse community of artists and illustrators.

Music

Chris is both an instrumentalist, producing work under his own moniker Rackle as well as being the vocalist / bassist and synthesist in noise-rock duo Modern Technology.

Drummer Owen Gildersleeve and bassist Chris Clarke formed Modern Technology in 2017. The band have since released four records and a split single.
